Backyard Burn Hemlock Mosaic, originally uploaded by Brian Knight Photography.
This past Sunday nearly one-hundred and fifty intrepid racers (and two intrepid photographers dressed head-to-toe in waterproof-breathable fabric) gathered at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park for the final Backyard Burn trail running race.
Photos from this race (and proof that you once again awoke early on weekend morning and braved the cold and the rain) are now online!
Check out the super, soggy action in the online gallery!
Congratulations to EX2 Adventures for 10 years and 100 races!!
Remember, photos make for great, long lasting gifts…

Backyard Burn, Fountainhead, originally uploaded by LeeDiehr.
Last Sunday morning while you were tying your running shoes tightly I was visiting the Kennedy Space Center and participating in the STS-129 NASA Tweetup (it launched on Monday by the way).
Luckily for you, Lee Diehr was on hand to capture all of the splish-splashing action of the third Backyard Burn race! You can view all of the photos online now at Lee’s website.
We look forward to seeing you at the final race of the season!

A typical day in the (totally glamorous) life of an adventure sports photographer…
0700 – Alarms go off (x3)
0730 – Actually get out of bed
0730 – Shower, check the forecast, realise that the rain is not going to stop and will in fact continue for quite a bit longer, rush around to find gore-tex boots, pants and hat, a tent, and anything else that seems like it might be good to have around while intentionally subjecting oneself to a rain storm (oh, and some sort of pack to put it all in – This, by the way, all in addition to the other backpack full of camera gear).
0800 – Wander out to the car with all of my bags, drive to the park
0830 – Hike off to my spot on the trail, set up the tent’s rainfly, hunker down, and wait for runners
0910 – 1100 – take some photos (6,072 to be exact)
1130 – Drive home, change clothes, hang up gear to dry
